Exterior Design In Architecture

Exterior Design In Architecture - In our last Project Management post, we covered the first few steps of our Design process such as creating storyboards for each project, talking through Pre-Design questions and answers with our clients, and walking through Schematic Design. Today's article part 1 of 2 explains what to expect from your designer through the second phase of our design process - the Design Development Phase.

As the name suggests, during the Design Development (DD) Phase we develop the project design further. We tried to find options for all materials and finishes, inside and out, for this piece. Our goal is to know all the solutions - and therefore all the costs involved - before we start building. Apart from the cost of the item or fixture, specifications - such as size and installation requirements, are also important to consider. Different materials or designs require slightly different designs. Making this decision early in the design process will ensure our potential client has confidence in the cost of the project before we proceed.

Our first DD workshop focused on creating exterior designs. We draw exterior elevations and build a 3d "study model" in the computer to get a general idea of the weight of the house. These contests and models help us discuss different options, windows – placement, height, size, what might work or not – roof height and slope, quality…

This Ghaziabad Home Finds Balance Through Its Daring Design

Our Chalet Perche projected the main discussion in the first DD meeting was the floor-to-ceiling glass facade in the living room. A large piece of glass or two would have been ideal, but the need to open up the living room to the deck and wood more than meant we had to tear down the facade. We know that opening up the entire facade from one side to the other would be costly, so we discussed other options that made sense in terms of how our customers could use it. I believe we have found a solution that preserves the lack of modernity that is important to our customers, and a solution that also elegantly addresses the functional aspects that are important to this product.

One of the things I love most about working with our clients at Bully Hill House is their desire to do something a little different – they're so excited that we use "new" as the basis of an outfit. their house. (And when I say "new" I mean things we've never worked on.) This will be a lesson for all of us - and I think that's the part they'll love the most!

As mentioned above, this article only covers the first half of what to expect during Design Development. We'll be posting Part 2 - What to Expect from Your Designer: Interior Design Decisions - in a few weeks. For more information on DD and Working with Architects see our posts here and here. Cheers! It resulted from the desire of new home owners with a simple & modern but comfortable design, after living in a traditional house for a long time, a small part of the country is located in a complex residential area. community shortly after discussing this upcoming project. This becomes an opportunity but also a design problem because the house can be decorated from two sides but at the same time face the direct heat of the sun from the west.

With careful thought and creative thinking in action, simple geometric masses are selected and explained in a way that has many interesting features. Such as the use of wood, tiles & steel for the facade.

However, the use of concrete as the main construction system is considered the most suitable for this type of design. Concrete slab foundations are used to reduce or minimize the damage that can be done to existing houses nearby as low as possible.

The sides of the house that are exposed to direct sunlight, especially from the west, are filled with spaces or architectural techniques that can help reduce heat. Such as wooden looms, planter boxes, wardrobes, study rooms and bathrooms. This is considered a success because in fact, the room can get a good temperature comfort even if you don't use the air conditioner.

This house is heavily influenced by modern Japanese house design, such as good spatial planning, using many openings for natural lighting and ventilation, using the Zen garden philosophy of outdoor space to reduce maintenance and using a lot of wood materials. found ruling this house. Whether in architecture or interior design.

The most important place in this house is the living room which combines the dining room as a semi-public space. Large windows with sliding doors are used for this space to allow access to the terrace outside. This area is designed to have the best views but is also very safe and feels private as the user cannot be seen from the street outside the house.

Usually, walls are not covered with things that are considered beautiful, expensive, or useless. That's right, the painted brick wall is handmade and chosen as the best focus because of the same design philosophy of the designers & interior designers. It more or less uses the principle of Wabi-Sabi that in something imperfect, we can appreciate the beauty itself.

Now, the owner can finally live in the last exit with pleasure, because the house was well thought out from the beginning. Although this is the first time using architecture & interior design services for the owner, it is considered a happy and harmonious working collaboration.
